Quality products at everyday low prices – that’s the promise Sam Walton made when he started Walmart, and it’s as true today more than 50 years later.

The Challenge

One of the biggest sales events of the year happens during winter for the holidays. With the season for giving, Walmart is top of mind for many holiday shoppers. In order to ensure shoppers maintain their festive spirit, Walmart needed to update their website to match the season while being sensitive to the diverse culture of shoppers.

OutReach was hired in collaboration with their marketing agency to help create this new look without affecting the current user experience of their website.

Brand Strategy

Walmart has an exclusive brand strategy that is very specific to their target personas. In order to create a new design, we had to ensure it complemented their current brand guidelines. A detailed and thorough mood board board was created to guide this initiative.

Design

As with any enterprise design strategy, we split our design phase into stages; from wireframes to concept creation. This allows all stakeholders to have a say and ensure their vision is met.

OutReach considered all previous designs to ensure there was a gradual evolution in the designs Walmart was launching to the public

Implementation

Implementation was handled by Walmart’s development team. With OutReach having its own in-house development resources, our designers were able to create concepts that would fit within their current web framework and reduce any difficulty in implementing the approved designs.
There are two main forms that the OutReach logo can be presented:1. The main logo with the three stripes. This should be used whenever possible to oficially represent the company. 2. The icon - to substitute the main logo.LOGO COMPOSITION12 07
